Irene Amu is a Senior Director and Data Protection Officer at Motorola Solutions. In this role, she is responsible for leading and managing Motorola Solutions’ global enterprise privacy program. She is a strategic thinker and brings a combined 20+ years of domestic and international experience in the areas of data privacy, data security, risk management and legal and regulatory compliance. Previously, Irene worked in Motorola Solutions’ Internal Audit department and in consulting with KPMG, LLP in New York and Chicago, working on investigative, compliance and integrity advisory projects.
Irene holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK and a Master in Corporate and Commercial Law from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London, UK. She is a licensed New York State attorney and holds privacy certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), of which she served as Co-Chair for the KnowledgeNet Chicago Chapter. Irene also proudly serves on the Board of the Ajilla Foundation, whose mission is to empower women and girls of color through leadership innovation and technology.
