Bootcamp program will focus on underrepresented populations within entrepreneurship in the very early stages of building their company, and include six months of programming and a $5,000 non-dilutive grant to help these founders start and grow their own business.
NEW YORK, NY (February 15, 2022) – Future Founders and the AB InBev Foundation today announced the launch of the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp.
A six-month program focused on supporting founders from underrepresented populations, the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp will guide early-stage entrepreneurs as they navigate the journey of launching their own business. Participation in the program will be 100% virtual, and built on a framework of live skill-development workshops covering topics ranging from design thinking and customer discovery, to leadership, communication, and pitching. Founders who successfully complete the attendance and participation requirements of the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp will also receive a $5,000 non-dilutive grant to help kickstart their business.
“The Foundation is determined to empower change-makers in communities around the world to catalyze sustainable social impact, ” said Sam Stephens, Executive Director, AB InBev Foundation. “This early entrepreneur bootcamp is a practical step towards that goal.”
“Strong partnership with communities is always a critical pillar in all our work,” said Tom Achoki, Senior Director of Strategy and Impact, AB InBev Foundation. “Through this program we seek to support and empower early stage entrepreneurs from underrepresented populations to actively participate in business creation and contribute to the well-being of their local communities.”
In addition to the tactical skill-development workshops, founders in the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp will also participate in regular peer group meetings with fellow cohort members. Modeled after Future Founders’ years of experience running community-driven accelerator programs for 18 to 30-year-old founders, these peer group meetings will help participants in the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp develop a supportive network of like-minded individuals, which is often cited by accomplished entrepreneurs as the key to their success.
“Community fuels entrepreneurship, and is at the core of every program we offer to young founders,” said Scott Issen, President & CEO of Future Founders. “We are thrilled to work alongside the AB InBev Foundation to build another community-driven program to support underrepresented founders, and help develop the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
Applications for the Early Entrepreneur Bootcamp close on March 16, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. Each application will be reviewed by a selection panel, and all applicants will receive a response with a decision by March 31, 2022. There is no fee to participate in this program and no equity will be taken from participating companies.
