Over the past two weeks, the Future Founders Foundation and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) hosted competitions for our partnership schools so students could showcase the business plans they created during the school year. From each school’s competition, judges selected 3-6 plans to advance to the Future Founders finalist pool.
After reviewing the high caliber finalists, we are pleased to announce the seven plans that will be featured at the 9th Annual Future Founders Citywide Business Plan Competition. This “American Idol” meets entrepreneurship competition will take place on Wednesday, May 7 at the Hard Rock Café.
For this year’s event, students will compete in two categories: PRODUCT & SERVICE and TECHNOLOGY. One winning plan will be announced from each category. In addition, a runner-up will be named from the five remaining plans.
At this point, we’d like to announce and congratulate our 2014 CITYWIDE FINALISTS:
Finalists are listed in alphabetical order for each category.
PRODUCT & SERVICE
We also want to introduce our new $2,000 ELEVATOR PITCH COMPETITION, where students will have 90 seconds to pitch their business idea and then answer questions from our judges. The winner will receive a $1,500 college scholarship and the runner-up will receive a $500 college scholarship.
