Future Founders, a non-profit organization that believes every youth can become an entrepreneur, today announced its full slate of virtual programming aimed at empowering Chicago middle and high school students with the skills they need to build innovative solutions to global problems.
Future Founders’ slate of spring online programming – offered free of charge to Chicago Public School students – includes Startup Spring Break, a virtual entrepreneurship boot camp for girls run in partnership with Google, along with the “Be Your Own Boss” Internship, a two-and-a-half week paid virtual internship where students get a crash course in entrepreneurship, work with fellow teens from across the city, and build a business of their very own!

Startup Spring Break is a high-energy, fast-paced virtual learning experience for middle school girls who are builders, makers, and dreamers. During this one-week experience, girls from across Chicago will come together to learn about entrepreneurship, meet female founders making an impact, and collaborate to create their own startup ideas.
This program will run during CPS spring break (March 29th-April 2nd) and is open to middle school girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In order to participate, students will need access to a working laptop and an internet connection.

Be Your Own Boss is not another virtual class. It’s a chance to learn new skills, meet new friends, make new connections, earn some money, and most importantly, have a whole lot of fun! By the end of the Be Your Own Boss Internship, students will take the first steps towards launching a real business of their very own! Every single intern is eligible to earn up to $250 based on their attendance and engagement in the program. From learning how to identify opportunities and find your first customers, to building prototypes and pitching ideas to investors, students walk away from this internship with a set of skills that will prove valuable for the rest of their life!
The first session kicks off on Monday, February 15, and the second one begins Monday, April 12.
