Future Founders Fellowship member TagPrints Digital and 2015 U.Pitch participant NuGrad have been named to Chicago Inno’s “10 Student-Launched Startups Set To Make Moves In 2016.” The Chicago Inno article notes that several successful startups have emerged from universities in recent years, (including Braintree, GrubHub, Packback, SimpleMills, and Innoblative) and it thinks that TagPrints and NuGrad might be next in line.
TagPrints is a “photo activation company [that] builds companies’ brands through social media powered photo booths. Their users can either use a branded hashtag to get a photo print out, or share a branded photo through photobooths at an event. Andy Marsh, who just graduated from DePaul with a degree in marketing in June, launched the company as a junior, and already the startup has worked with clients such as Ferrari, Under Armour and the Grammy’s.”
NuGrad is an “Illinois State University student startup [that] wants recruiters to find hidden talent at overlooked schools. Their assessment and recruiting platform creates a ‘new GPA’ for students that takes into account a qualitative overview of their characteristics, and then compiles the top students based off this new metric at any given school and connects them with relevant recruiters. Since launching this fall, they are working at eight universities and 32 companies. Founder Jack Sutherland, who graduated in May, just pitched NuGrad at Future Founder’s U.Pitch.”
Congratulations to TagPrints and NuGrad!
