Dawn Heilung (they, them) is a Program Manager at Future Founders. In this role, they support our middle and high school programming by delivering our entrepreneurship curriculum, managing school and community partnerships, and engaging volunteers.
Prior to Future Founders, Dawn spent nearly six years working for a range of organizations dedicated to empowering young people, delivering inclusive and progressive sex education, and piloting community-based anti-violence programs. Most recently, they managed a trans team of health educators and providers for Howard Brown Health, providing free inclusive healthcare across Chicagoland. In addition, Dawn is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a distinguished member of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE).
Dawn earned their Bachelor’s degree in Theater and Public Health from Texas State University. A budding entrepreneur themself, Dawn founded the first LGBTQ+ theater company in Texas. Since then, they have also started the first trans/nonbinary production company in Chicago, which hosts regular community meetups and produces multiple dance, theatre and performance art shows each year.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas (yeehaw!), Dawn is excited to help facilitate transformative programming for students across Chicago and meet the next generation of founders!
